Hey, everyone!
Team Banquet Friday 02/21. Our team banquet is Friday 02/21 from 6:30 - 8:00pm in the Mayo HS Cafeteria. Desserts will be provided!
Please Send Andrea Pictures! If you have any fun pictures from the season you would like to share with us for a slide show, please pass them along to andrea_nibbe@yahoo.com ASAP. Thank you to all of you who have sent pictures already!
Fun Race. Sorry guys. But after discussing with the AD, the fun race is too close to an "organized practice" after the end of the season and therefore a violation of MSHSL rules. He is not comfortable with us doing it. Thus, we will not be allowed to do the fun race.
More Ski Race Training Opportunities this Season.
NASTAR at Welch two more Sundays Feb 23rd, March 2nd from 10:00-11:30am
Late Season Race Academy at Welch. Contact Peter Zotalis for details (peter@welchvillage.com).
Bumps on Duds Dream. Bumps are an incredibly useful ski race training tool. Absorbing the bump is the retraction of the outside leg in transition (lift and tip and pull back). Pole tap the bump as a precursor to the lift and tip. Keep the upper body, hips and shoulders upright (counter balance) and square to the fall line (counter action). Work on quick transitions and recovery skills. All good things!!
Team Captain Nominations. For racers intending to return next year, please nominate captains for next year using the link below. Just like last year, I will announce next year's captains at the banquet. Thanks to all of you who have submitted a response. But more than half of you have not yet, especially a lot of you younger racers. I care what you have to say and you have an important role in this!
Thanks, everyone!!
-Coach Curt
TEAM FEE $125
- We will collect a team fee for each skier this year of $125 at the PAC meeting. This covers the lift fees for races outside of Welch and equipment costs for the team. Both are items that your registration fee from the school does not cover.
- Only cash or check made out to “FASTOR”. We will not be able to take electronic payment.
- If paying by check PLEASE include the NAME of your SKIER in the memo.
- If a parent or skier cannot attend the meeting, mail a check to Sarah Pool at 2161 17th St. NE Rochester, MN 55906.
- Skiing is an expensive sport. We have scholarships available for financial assistance. Email Sarah Pool at sarahpool@me.com if interested.
TIMING CHIPS
- If your skier wants a timing chip or lost theirs from last year, you may pay a $100 deposit.
- This is optional, but it can be a helpful training tool.
- The charge is $25 per year of use, up to a maximum of four years. Skiers will not be refunded if the chip is lost or damaged. Any skier returning the same timing chip in less than four years will be reimbursed appropriately based on years of use. No reimbursement is provided if the same timing chip is returned after four years or more of use.
- Only cash or check made out to “FASTOR”. If you want to pay your team fee and the timing chip deposit together, you may write one check out to “FASTOR” for $225.
