This year we will have three Mayo HS girls teams (varsity, JV, B-squad). Last year we had a 4th team where there were a lot of 8th graders. The athletics dept needs to limit the program to 3 teams this year because most school programs have only 2 or 3 programs. Quite simply, we don’t have many opponents for our 4th team. Unfortunately, there will be cuts made.
However, we know 8th graders can be quite variable in athletic development (skill, ability, strength, vision, etc). We understand there are 8th graders who are quite skilled so we don't want to rule them out. If all things were equal, a senior, junior, or sophomore, or freshman would take a spot over an 8th grader, but there will be anomalies.
Your rising 8th grader can sign up for the summer soccer programming to train and see if she fits in with the level of play, and she is also welcome to join the SAQ programming.

Concussion Testing
Concussion Testing will occur Thursday June 5th at 1:00pm in the Mayo HS Cafeteria. This is required for all athletes participating in Mayo Soccer, and needs to be completed prior to tryouts.
Players should complete the following prior to the testing day:
1. Fill out the RedCap Survey: https://redcap2.mayo.edu/redcap/surveys/?s=PD8RLXRRAX7DXWFN
2. Download the Sway Medical app
Please be patient and give a lot of time for baseline concussion testing (block 2-3 hours just in case). It can take a very long time. Be kind, respectful, and give grace to professionals trying to help you. Bring cards, a book, or a good conversation! :-)
