Section Team information

Hello Section team and families!

Congratulations on an amazing meet Saturday!! I am so proud of your tenacity, mental toughness and your ENERGY!! It was a joyful day

All-Conference winners will be announced in the next few days. 

There are a lot of details in this email; please read it carefully. If your daughter is not on this email, please share it with her.

 

  1. Taper practices start tomorrow. We will swim right after school (getting in at 3:45 SHARP) until 5:30ish at first. As the next two weeks go on, those practices will get shorter.
  2. No one can miss any taper practices. It is imperative that you are at every practice. If you’re late because of a club or schoolwork, please make up the yards you miss.
  3. The Section line up may change; I will share any changes as soon as possible.
  4. Section prelims will be Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 5:30pm at the Rec Center. (Warmups start at 4:00pm – we are in Lane 1). The entire team will swim at this meet. The team will wear fast suits for this meet. If you need a new one, I would work on that tomorrow. Let me know how I can help you.
  5. Section finals will be on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 5:30pm. (Warmups start at 4:00pm– we are in Lane 1) The whole team should be there, but only those who make it into the top 16 will compete.
  6. Starting on Monday, October 27, the swimmers will be exchanging secret swimmer gifts. They’ll get their secret swimmer early this week. They can get their secret swimmer a small gift for Monday through Thursday of that week, then a larger gift for Friday to exchange before warmups. I will explain more to the team. Please reach out if you have any questions.
  7.  There are two new rules this year
    1. No Photographers on deck (sorry, Andrew!)
    2.  We can only have 4 coaches on deck, and no other team members other than swimmers. I will submit a list and you will get stamped in. It will be me, Scott, Jessica and Ella.

  9.  During taper, it is really important that the swimmers get enough sleep and eat well. Please encourage your daughters to take care of themselves the best they can ( all the time! but also) during these next few weeks.

Hello everyone!

1.I am sad that this is the last week with our JV swimmers. This group has been amazing – hardworking, versatile and very sweet and enjoyable. I will miss them.

2.Tomorrow the JV swimmers will fill out secret swimmer forms and get their secret swimmers. They will buy a gift worth no more than $20 for their secret swimmer for the meet on Saturday. If JV swimmers want to leave a note for their secret swimmer every day this week, that would be fun. I will explain more at the team meeting tomorrow. 

3.Varsity swimmers will do something similar after the Big 9 Conference meet for the Section meet. 

4.Schedule for the week:

Monday – normal practice with a long important team meeting. Varsity 3:45, JV 5:15

Tuesday - COMBINED PRACTICE until 5:30pm, followed by a pasta feed hosted by the Hill’s Details below:

5.Details for Saturday’s meets:

JV Meet 

 

  • Swimmers should be at the Rec Center at 7:50am to exchange gifts 
  • Warmups start at 8:30am. We are in Lane 2 in the shallow end 
  • The meet starts at 9:30am

Varsity Meet

 

  • Diving will be held at Northfield Middle School at 5:30pm on Friday, October 24. Here is the livestream link https://www.youtube.com/@NorthfieldSwim. I also follow diving on a website called Clean Entries.
  • The swimming portion is on Saturday, October 25
  • Swimmers should be there in time to warm up at 1:00-1:40pm. We have Lane 2 in the deep and shallow pool for that time. One way sprints are from 2:20 – 3:00pm
  • The swimming competition starts at 3:00pm.

Next week, after the Big 9 Conference, we will start taper for the Section team. No one can miss any taper practices. That first day we will talk a lot about this process, and many other things. Practices will run until 5:30ish and will get shorter as the time goes. For those of you that are new, please ask all the questions that you need.

Nothfield Meet Information

Hello all! Just a few reminders about tomorrow's meet:

 

WILLOW CREEK STUDENTS: you will be dismissed at 2:45pm to catch the bus at 3:00pm

MAYO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: you will be dismissed at 3:00pm. The bus will arrive after picking up the Willow Creek students and depart for Northfield at 3:15pm.

Order Jimmy Johns for the 3:00-3:15pm time slot. 

 

Meet information:

Time: 6:00pm

Location: Northfield at Northfield Middle School (2200 Division St. S.)
Buses/Official/Fans Parking: East side of the building.
ALL SPECTATORS WILL ENTER THROUGH POOL DOOR #3

● Online tickets along with limited cash will be available. Cash larger than $20 won’t be accepted.

d paulson Photography will be doing our team photos again this year and it will be online with the same ordering process as last year.  You will be able to view the photos before ordering and order at your convenience online or on your phone.  In addition, photos will be delivered directly to your home.  

THE FIRST THING THAT YOU NEED TO DO IS TEXT THE CODE SWIMDIVE2025 to 90738.  You will then get a text notification when the photos are uploaded to the gallery and ready to view and purchase
